This position develops and oversees fundraising strategies and all aspects of fundraising programs. Creates fundraising goals and solicits funds to meet these goals. Identifies new donor bases and organizes initiatives to solicit funding. Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Directs and oversees all internal processes related to multi-channel solicitations, gift entry, recordkeeping, moves management, reporting, and stewardship. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsible for developing and executing on the capital campaign plan.
Prepares strategic plan with short- and long- range goals to meet the organization’s funding objectives.
Selects, supervises, evaluates and manages development staff. Provides regular performance feedback, develops staff member’s ’skills and encourages growth. Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.
Cultivation and solicitation of existing or past donors to consider renewals, new gifts and/or upgraded gifts.
Identification of new prospects within existing or new prospects pool.
Development of gift proposals.
Assigns responsibilities for solicitation to staff members according to capabilities.
Supervises and coordinates activities of staff members engaged in maintaining records of contributors and grants; and preparing letters of appreciation to be sent to contributors.
Provides reports and analysis to leadership on a monthly basis and/or as requested.
Prepares annual budget and historical analysis to drive annual goals and plans.
Seeks out, reviews and summarizes government related requests for proposals and supporting literature related to end-of-life and advanced illness programs and services.
Coordinates the involvement of contract grant writer(s) as needed.
Develops and manages revenue and expense projections related to grants, moves management/WealthEngine, and stewardship.
Participates in training and continuing education.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare management or related field. Advanced degree or Certified Fundraising Executive preferred.
Minimum Experience: Ten (10) years in fundraising; healthcare experience preferred.

Pathways, located in Larimer and Weld county, is a local nonprofit providing symptom management and support for serious long-term illness (Palliative Care), expert medical and hospice care for individuals navigating the last months of life, and grief counseling and programs for those mourning the loss of a loved one or dealing with a tragedy. From our beginnings in 1978, when a group of nurses came together in Loveland to voluntarily care for a friend in the final months of her life, we’ve been caring for Northern Colorado residents regardless of financial circumstance.
We serve individuals living in Larimer County, western Weld County, and the Highway 85 and I-25 corridors including the towns of Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, and Windsor.
