For twenty years, HTF has been a high impact grassroots movement. We believe in education, economic development, community engagement, and local leadership. We are seeking a person with exceptional organizational management skills, financial savvy, fundraising ability and with a passion for Haiti to lead HTF into a new chapter of expansion and even greater impact.
The mission of the Executive Director (ED) role empowers them to take full ownership for leading and driving mission expansion, excellence in communications, operational oversight, reporting, and development. The expectations of the role are gathered under three areas as outlined below: Executive Leadership, Steward of the Mission, and Steward of the Organization.
How you will demonstrate Executive Leadership:
Your leadership shall be informed and driven by HTF’s mission, vision, and guiding principles/values.
The International Leadership Team, hereinafter referred to as the “board,” will provide you with overall direction, policy, and missional strategy for HTF.
You will execute the decisions of the board.
You will lead HTF’s team of paid servants with responsibility for hiring, promoting, and separating, all driven by HTF’s mission and vision.
A team appointed by the board will be responsible for evaluating your work.
How you will be a Steward of the Mission:
You will develop, multiply, and strengthen the resources of HTF – people, partners, and funding – so that HTF can exceed the aspirations it sets for itself.
You will be the primary interface between the organization and public, our partners in Haiti, our donors, and our covenant communities.
You will provide direction and inspiration that multiply the efforts and impact of the board.
You will work with the board chair to set the agenda for board meetings.
You shall direct and oversee the grant award process from application to award and inclusive of compliance/reporting from our awardees.
You will collaborate with the board in establishing and developing mission teams and task forces necessary for HTF to achieve its aspirations.
How you will be a Steward of the Organization:
You will work with the board to provide board development and training, as well as populating the board with an optimum number of board members, each who bring needful gifts for HTF’s mission and who collectively represent diversity in all areas.
You will oversee the Accounting Associates and will have ultimate responsibility for accurate and timely financial reporting.
You will provide monthly reporting and full quarterly and annual reporting to the board in a format to be determined.
You will be responsible for all compliance and on-time reporting and payments with the Secretary of State, the IRS, and any other tax/compliance agencies.
You will establish with the board a comprehensive system of risk management and fiscal monitoring and controls.
You will have responsibility for additional tasks as assigned by the board.
Other things for you to know:
This position requires extensive travel within the United States and to Haiti; therefore, you must have a valid driver’s license, passport, and be up-to-date on all required vaccines. Trips to Haiti also require substantial walking, climbing staircases, and climbing in and out of vehicles.
You must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check.
FLSA STATUS: Full-time, exempt employee
LOCATION: operations are currently in Cincinnati, OH, where the Accounting Associates reside; however, the board is willing to consider a candidate in a remote location under the right circumstances
TRAVEL: this position requires extensive travel within the United States and Haiti, including overnight travel

You have the following qualities and experience:
A true servant-leader who is vibrant, mature, positive, resilient, and of strong character.
Inspires others and inspires confidence from others.
Ideally has at least 5 years of experience in a leadership/executive-level role; even better if it is in a non-profit organization.
Proven track record of excellence in fundraising or a similar/related area.
Communicates with excellence and inspiration at all levels and to all stakeholders.
Can positively support and operate within the orientation of faith and hope that drives the board and which is characteristic of the majority of HTF’s constituency.
Dedicated to fostering a new Haiti of justice and life for all people.
Demonstrates humility; is teachable and thrives in opportunities to learn, grow, and get better at one’s role.
Experience in a small, fast-paced organization is a plus.
You have the following technical skills:
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication capabilities
Proficient in G-Suite (Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides)
Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access)
